Cypress Symphonic Band

The Cypress Symphonic Band rehearses on Tuesday evenings.  We meet at the Richard & Meg Weekley Community Center in Cypress.   Rehearsals are from 7:00 pm to 8:45 pm on Tuesday evenings under the batons of  Dr. Clancy Weeks (Music Director) and Mr. Bill Stutsman (Associate Conductor).  This season’s theme is “Around the World in 80 Minutes!”, with four programs planned throughout the year.  The band is again featuring world premieres of new American composers.

We are still looking for a few more musicians, especially in the trumpet, trombone, tuba (and string bass), and percussion sections.  If you are interested in learning more about the band or attending a rehearsal, please contact Johnathon Venable, at johnathon@cypresssymphonicband.org.   Interested persons must own their own instruments (except percussion!) and be able to play at a grade four (high school) level.

Our Purpose and Mission Statement

To provide amateur musicians with lifelong learning opportunities and the pleasure of playing to improve musicianship and performance skill.

To educate and enrich the community by providing cultural awareness through symphonic band repertoire.
